For Children
How We Support Children
We strengthen children’s long‑term success by supporting the fathers who raise them and by directly investing in children’s educational pathways. Our approach addresses the emotional, financial, educational, and community factors that shape a child’s development with educational scholarships serving as a critical pillar of opportunity and stability.
We focus on:
Emotional Support
SDU helps fathers build the emotional tools they need to create calmer, more nurturing homes where children feel safe, supported, and understood.
Financial Stability
We equip dads with resources, emergency assistance, and employment support so children can grow up in stable, secure environments free from financial crisis.
Educational Support
Through scholarships, technology access, and school‑navigation support, SDU opens doors to learning and long‑term opportunity for children in single‑father households.
Community Support
SDU surrounds families with a strong, reliable community—connecting dads and children to programs, events, and resources that strengthen bonds and reduce isolation.
Impact on Children:
- Children experience safer, more stable homes through financial support that prevents eviction, displacement, and hardship.
- Kids develop healthier emotional regulation and behavior because their fathers receive mental‑health support and stress‑management tools.
- Father‑child relationships grow stronger, improving bonding, communication, and long‑term family stability.
- Children gain access to higher education and career pathways through scholarships, laptops, and academic resources.
- Kids benefit from consistent routines and caregiving, supported by fathers who secure employment and financial stability.
- Children feel a deeper sense of belonging and community through SDU events, resources, and wraparound support.
Educational Scholarships
SuperDad Scholarship
About the Scholarship Parenting is never easy and when you’re raising a family on your own, the challenges can feel overwhelming. Single fathers often face unique obstacles, yet their strength and dedication are too often overlooked. With over 7.2 million single dads in the United States, making up nearly a quarter of all single-parent households, it’s time to change that narrative. Single Dads United exists to support fathers who shoulder the responsibilities of parenting alone. We know how hard it can be to balance family, work, and personal goals. That’s why we’re committed to helping you access resources, education, and community support that make life a little easier. Education is a powerful tool for building a brighter future for you and your children. By pursuing your goals, you not only increase opportunities for yourself but also inspire the next generation to dream big and work hard. Through programs like scholarships, mentorship, and community events, we aim to provide practical help and emotional encouragement.
